Leopold’s: San Francisco

My big brother Aaron, is my very best friend and when he moved out to California to go to college I was devastated. Fast forward 10 years, I think him moving away made us closer. Luckily he is able to come home often and we try to schedule a trip out to SF annually. This last year was by far my favorite because we had planned to go to Bay-to-Breakers (which I wrote about in a blog post so go check it out!). He loves to show me around town, because there is so much to see and we both enjoy the same things, delicious food, great friends, ice cold beer, and Game of Thrones of course. This time he took me to Leopold’s…. To say it was a life changing experience would be an understatement. I mean look at the size of this beer….IMG_1853

When the large German waiter delivered our beverages, I was shocked and totally overwhelmed. My brother leans over and says, “people don’t take you seriously if you don’t order the boot.” I laughed and accepted the challenge. Good thing we werIMG_1862e there for 2 hours because the table of 8 all felt the need to pace ourselves, thank goodness I wasn’t the only one afraid of the giant boot. Then came the food, which was absolutely delectable. I didn’t think you could get authentic GermanIMG_1868 food like that in America, but I was completely wrong. I let my German fluent brother order for me and it’s like he read my mind. He ordered us both the, Jagerschnitzel, which was breaded & fried pork loin with “Jager Art” sauce and butter spatzle. My mouth is watering just typing that out. This place is a “must go-to” if you’re ever in SF, along with the wonderful food and beer, the waitresses all wear lederhosens and you feel like you’re stepping into Germany when  you go. And me, being me, after I finished my boot, I had to get a picture with the owner, Leopold himself.
